The Holy Family Program is the Sacrament preparation program for St. Brendan Parish children who will celebrate the Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time (2nd graders; older children who have not yet celebrated these Sacraments also participate in an adapted program) and their families. Families are contacted at the start of each academic year with information by mail and email.
Several parent meetings are held at the parish throughout the year. These meetings provide information about the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Materials and books are distributed to parents for use in the home.
All parents and children attend two retreats at the parish: one in November for Reconciliation and another in March for Eucharist. First Reconciliation is typically celebrated in November/December and First Eucharist is celebrated during the season of Easter (in the spring).
A materials fee is collected at the start of the year, and a $5 banner supply donation is collected at the Eucharist Retreat. Families must be registered members of St. Brendan Parish to participate in the Holy Family Program; all children who will celebrate the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist participate in the Holy Family Program.
