I can’t say enough about how much I love St. Brendan School. Not only do my children get a great education (including math that is difficult for me at times!) but they are also encouraged to develop their talents and interests and grow in their faith. One of my favorite experiences here is when I get to worship with the students at mass. There is nothing more beautiful than the sound of children singing! My children love being a part of such a wonderful school, and I love being part of the St. Brendan School family!
We moved to North Olmsted 10 years ago and were in search of a Catholic school that would educate our children as whole people; body, mind and spirit. I called St. Brendan and was able to sit down with our principal, Julie Onacila. It was so important to us that religion, namely our treasured Catholic faith was not just a subject to be taught 20 minutes each morning. We wanted to know that the faith was inter woven throughout the day and that the children were immersed with the beauty that we know as our faith. She spoke of morning prayer, school mass, projects about the saints and the involvement of our active parish and priests with the school children. Our conversation left me feeling excited and confident that this would be our home. Now 10 years later we are so grateful for the community, families, faculty and staff that make up St. Brendan grade school. Our children are getting a phenomenal academic experience, participate fully in CYO activities and are fully infused with the Catholic faith that is so important to the formation of these little souls.
The Hickey Family
Selecting a school is not easy. One wants their child(ren) to learn in a comfortable environment while obtaining a faith based high quality education. My husband and I found this at St. Brendan School. When we first walked into the school we obtained an overwhelming feeling of warmth and kindness from the staff as if welcoming us to the family/community. This feeling of comfort along with a variety of educational opportunities ranging from Technology Club, Spanish, Advanced Placement courses and many others which are available to our children led to our enrollment in the school.
The Hohmann Family
It was only after becoming parishioners, that we as a family knew that saint Brendan was the place for us. The parish drew us in with its welcoming and kind environment. We immediately felt like part of a community. We knew right then that the school associated with this wonderful parish was where we would send our children. Saint Brendan School is now home to our small children. It is a close-knit Christian environment that focuses on a strong faith in god along with having high expectations for the students filled with rich learning experiences and academic rigor. In a very short time we have seen our children flourish both spiritually and academically under the care and guidance of the amazing staff at Saint Brendan. One cannot walk down the hallways of our school without being greeted warmly by name by students, staff and other families. The walls are lined with print rich writing samples, creative artwork, class projects and artifacts of student achievement. It is only now as a parent that I truly see the benefits of catholic education by exposure to an environment like that at Saint Brendan. It warms my heart each day to send my children to this fine school.
